Certificate of Excellence – Basic Information
Part of the requirements were to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the weaving and allied subjects. Below are some of the major categories. This part reflects the absence of modern technology. I have not included written papers because they definitely would not be acceptable by today's standards.
Spinning
The requirements were to spin 10 yards of single ply and 10 yards of double ply yarn. I chose a lovely roving to spin and used a drop spindle. No one said it had to be good spinning.
Dyeing
